Editorial: WSSU New Designer Showcase

This piece is slightly late because of some technical difficulties I have had with my laptop in the last few weeks. Nevertheless, this is our personal review of the New Designer Showcase hosted at Winston Salem State University on March 24th, 2012. This was the first event of its kind on campus which brought joy to our ears. Of course, they asked us to participate but we were not quite prepared to display the brand on that type of platform; so we opted not to participate. However, we showed up to support and got some quality photos as well. More after the jump.

Cultural Paradox

I was on the breezeway one day and Tiffany LaSha walked up rocking some Jordan 12s and seersucker pants. Seeing as how seersucker is often used to make suits and worn at beach parties and Jordans are a staple within street wear culture I liked the pairing of the two to make one cross-cultural combo. -Dave.

TC Chillin'

Caught Ms.Mozingo at a poetry event a while ago. Even though she couldn't figure out how she wanted to pose her outfit was still dope.    - Dave.

WSSU Main Campus

Caught Gwendolyn hanging out by the fine arts building. Easily one of the most fashionable people on campus in my opinion. -Dave.

Alive.

A pasture is a source of nourishment, typically a place for the rejuvenation of the physical being. The number “9” is the mark of a plenitude of talents, a symbol for harmony representative of the inspiration and perfection of ideas.

We see the pasture, in theory and in practice, as a place for individuals with a love for cultured, timeless, and fashionable concepts. Here, those individuals can commune with others who value those same concepts.

In a society where we are constantly drained of our creative and artistic essence our pasture is a place of nourishment and sustenance for the body of creativity.

As you grow it too will grow, accepting even excrement and regurgitating it to give ingenuity existence creating a symbiotic relationship. The only requirement is that you be true to yourself, think of this as the ninth wonder of the world, and you the eighth.

Find yourself, significance is gained in succession, you are the missing link, once you know who you are you will be able to appreciate what IXth Pasture is.....

Please remember:
This is the place where we are set apart. Most are satisfied with living; those who live to thrive seek pasture
Enjoy,
- Steven & Dave.
