Nostalgia

I do not believe you guys have met Trey! He is one of my closest friends and cabinet members for this school year. Nevertheless, we had to tie up some school related ends in Chapel Hill and Durham this weekend and he killed the game with this one. The colors were beautifully distributed throughout this fit .... needless to say there is something nostalgic about a blue blazer and gold buttons.  - Dave.

Less Is More

Meet Taylor, a fashion student attending Johnson & Wells University. We crossed paths at a birthday event for a mutual friend last week. I liked the way she worked splashes of flair into here ensemble first with the color in the necklace then with the print in the shoes. A lot of people fail to realize that in most cases when it comes to fashion less really is more. Taylor proved that....and proved it well! 

Lemon, No Lime

I attended a birthday function for a friend of mine this past weekend and met Aaron. He is a fashion marketing and management major attending the Art Institute of Charlotte. The accents that were chosen for this ensemble are what made it stand out to me. I thought his lemon trousers were a great choice and it plays off of the stronger gold in the tie and blazer. Also, the hint of powder blue throughout the entire fit was strong enough to tie everything together but faint enough that it did not over power the rest of the outfit. I couldn't leave the function without this photograph.

A Friendly Reminder from Mr. Fonzworth Bentley

On Saturday, June 2, 2012 I was blessed with the opportunity of a life time while attending the 2012 NASAP Leadership Institute at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The NASAP Conference is a week full of professional and leadership development  for student leaders that attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities commonly known as HBCUs. The conference it self was amazing but of course you know there was one session that definitely peaked my interest.

Mr. Marcellus L. Connor was presenter at the NASAP Conference I attended two weeks ago. He spoke on the importance of social capital and how it can benefit your university. I remember a lot from his presentation but what I remember most is how he tastefully included this seer sucker blazer into his ensemble. I saw a few people attempt to  pull off the seer sucker blazer during my week in Maryland but this was by the far the best variation I came across. Superb! - Dave.

The Balancing Act

Here we have Joseph! The current Mr. Junior at Bowie State University. There are a few reason why I had to have a shot of this outfit. First, I loved the contrast of his bright tie on a dark shirt and the french cuff was a nice touch. Second, this was my first time seeing someone double up on pocket squares and it was done tastefully. Third, need I mention the socks and tie? This fit was a very well balanced in terms of the distribution of tone and color which is why I was so impressed. -Dave.
